Toledo Elite Facts:
1) 4th year Girls Basketball Club, (2nd for Boys)
2) Nationally recognized, nationally competitive. Directors – Duffy Burns - Former College coach (25+ years) and National Girls Basketball evaluator; Steve Mix - Former NBA and UT player. Both nationally recognized and connected with college coaches at all levels
3) Emphasis on skill development and exposure to collegiate recruiting
4) Tradition of Excellence. In its 3 year existence, 16 of our players so far have committed to play in college on full or partial scholarship.
5) Teams Offered:
a. Girls – 5th grade thru 11th grade teams
b. Boys – 5th grade through 9th grade teams
*assumes enough interest at each age group. Club may combine age groups, depending on the participation levels
6) Teams/Tournaments/Practices
a. Practices – will begin at the conclusion of the high school basketball season. Normally 1-2 practices per week prior to the tournament season. In July there will be no practices due to the heavy tournament schedule. Individual skill workouts will begin in February. These sessions are open to all team members. They will work on skill sets together (all teams) but not practice as separate teams until the high school season is finished.
b. Tournaments run from March – July. Most of the tournaments for the girls’ teams will be NCAA certified and are conducted during allowed collegiate evaluation periods. Heavy concentration of tournaments in July.
c. Girls – National level teams only. They will play 9-10 tournaments normally within 6 hours of Toledo. Teams will be playing in events geared to high levels of play and maximum exposure to college coaches. Normally 10 – 12 players per team. Nearly equal playing time for all. Some girls may play on older age level teams depending on the tournament and the participation levels
d. Boys – Regional level teams only. They will play 6-8 tournaments normally within 3 hours of Toledo. This is the second year we are including boys’ teams and they are geared for development of individuals and team play.
e. We do not mandate attendance at all practices and tournaments. If a player cannot make a tournament, they will not be penalized. However, the cost for the club is the same whether a player has participated in all or just some of the tournaments. The most successful basketball players we have had, made a commitment to attending most, if not all, team events.
7) Costs:
a. Toledo Elite is NOT a for-profit entity. Coaches are not paid. Directors may or may not receive a small stipend. All fees are primarily used for equipment, tournament fees, AAU fees, and coaches’ hotel rooms. Playing in national exposure events is more costly than playing in local or regional based tournaments. Due to the connections of the directors, Toledo Elite is able to play in 9-10 tournaments at a reduced cost and practice without paying a facility fee.
b. Girls
i. $1000 plus $50 uniform fee. (2011 Toledo Elite players may use those uniforms – we will buy new uniforms every other year). Payments will be due Dec 1 ($250+$50 uniform), Jan 1 ($250), Feb 1 ($250), Mar 1 ($250). Payments will need to be paid on time in order for the player to participate in tournaments
ii. Discounts offered ONLY for multiple daughters from the same family participating in the club. No other discounts are able to be offered. This is not a pay as you play club. We calculate the costs based on 10-12 players per team. We enter teams in tournament, not individual players, so our costs are not variable if a player does not show up for a tournament.
c. Boys
i. $500 plus $50 uniform fee. Payments will be due Dec 1 ($125+$50 uniform), Jan 1 ($125), Feb 1 ($125), Mar 1 ($125). Payments will need to be paid on time in order for the player to participate in tournaments

e. Other costs – hotels and transportation to tournaments. These costs are the responsibility of the individual families. The club will reserve blocks of rooms for our teams at discounted rates. Players and families are not required to stay at team hotels.

AAU Age Classifications/Team Offerings for 2012:
Toledo Elite will offer Girls Teams in 5th grade thru 12th grade divisions.
Toledo Elite will offer Boys Teams in 5th grade thru 10th grade divisions.
All age groups will be offered, assuming there is enough interest at each grade level. Toledo Elite may combine grade levels, depending on the participation numbers.
Age Classifications:
Tolede Elite 10’s - 5th GRADE DIVISION
A child must be in the 5th grade as of October 1, 2011 and can be no older than 12 on August 31, 2012.
Tolede Elite 11’s - 6th GRADE DIVISION
A child must be in the 6th grade as of October 1, 2011 and can be no older than 13 on August 31, 2012.
Toledo Elite 12’s - 7TH GRADE DIVISION
A child must be in the 7th grade as of October 1, 2011 and can be no older than 14 on August 31, 2012.
Toledo Elite 13s - 8TH GRADE DIVISIONA
A child must be in the 8th grade as of October 1, 2011 and can be no older than 15 on August 31, 2012.
Toledo Elite 14s - 9TH GRADE DIVISION
A child must be in the 9th grade as of October 1, 2011 and can be no older than 16 on August 31, 2012
Toledo Elite 15s - 10TH GRADE DIVISION
A child must be in the 10th grade as of October 1, 2011 and can be no older than 17 on August 31, 2012
Toledo Elite 16s - 11TH GRADE DIVISION
A child must be in the 11th grade as of October 1, 2011 and can be no older than 18 on August 31, 2012
Toledo Elite 17s - 12TH GRADE DIVISION
A child must be in the 12th grade as of October 1, 2011 and can be no older than 19 on August 31, 2012
